We went to the Arboretum Friday afternoon for Selah Grace's Birthday and for the premier of the Pumpkin Patch! The girls had fun running around and eating cupcakes for Selah's 5th birthday. Crazy how fast these girls are growing!

Belle had her first ever Dentist appointment! She hates it when I brush her teeth at home, so I was worried about them trying to do anything around her mouth. But she was a rock star and let them clean and polish her teeth. Where did my feisty 'mommy I do it!' girl go? I thought maybe she'd let me do it when we got home that night, but no. She is back to only wanting to 'do it myself!'
We took the girls to the Dallas World Aquarium with some friends this past weekend and they had so much fun! Penguins, Panthers, Crocodiles and Sharks. Their favorite of all was the Sloth though. Belle still talks about it and keeps saying, 'go back, go back!'
Since school started, we've had lots of rushing off to school mornings, and our once slow schedule is now in full speed. I took Belle the first week to Walnut Hill Rec Center since we had not been all summer. She had a blast running around with all of her friends. I also enrolled Belle and Luna in ballet/tap this year. We took a year off last year as Luna did gymnastics, but she begged to go back to Ballet. We had Luna in ballet at age 2, so we decided to put Belle in a class with her little friends Isla, Annabelle and Evelyn. Luna is in a class with her friend Jillian (our neighbor).
Luna and Belle started back to school after Labor day. So sad to see them off again, as Luna is now going 5 days a week :( I really don't have a choice because that is what they offer for the 4 year olds. Belle goes 2 days a week from 9-1:30pm. So it's nice to finally have them both at the same school, just hard as it feels like I am sending Luna off a year early to school. They love their teachers and so far, minus some separation anxiety for Belle, they love their school!
We took our second Summer trip to Colorado July 8-15th and loved it!!!! It's just a whole other world in the mountains, and a nice relaxing way of life. We went back to the same house in Breckenridge as last year with our family, Buelo Richard, Aunt Heather, Uncle Rey, Little Rey and Carolyn.
Breck has so much to do and see! We did horse back riding through the mountains, bike riding, taking the Gondola to the top for the many activities, walking down Historical Main Street, riding the old steam train and for the bigger kids white water rafting! We even took a little off-roading in our rental Lincoln Navigator :) We enjoyed the fresh mountain air, and cool weather. Every morning we woke up to the huge mountain ranges and it just didn't seem real. We took so many pictures (I get a little camera happy), I am just going to put them in a photo gallery here: I can't believe June is over! I just want the time.to.stop. Anyway, so the girls were in Summer School (camp) for June at Greenland Hills. It was mostly outdoor playtime, gymnastics and art on Tuesday/Thursdays. Belle's first time at school! And again, tried as hard as I could to get these girls to 1) even look at the camera, and 2) to smile! We also went to a few bday parties. Caroline had a princess ballerina party at her dance studio and Luna loved dancing and being a princess. Forgive the multiple photos, could not stand the cuteness! Belle's good friend Isla celebrated her 2 year birthday at Little Gym and really enjoyed it! Especially the part where she sang Happy Birthday and could eat her sugar (cake)! The girls also went to a birthday party together for one of Luna's classmates, Luca, at Build a Bear. The girls loved it and both picked out the Little Mermaid outfit for their animals. So precious!! Luca has been in Luna's class the past 2 years and we loved celebrating with him!
So I am a little behind on the blog these days. Geez, going from 1 child to 2 children I thought by the time they were 2 and 4 I would have more time for this stuff. Ha, ha! My free time has gone down considerably!
Anyway, Luna had a great last week of school. Her teacher gave her a certificate of completing her class and had the parents come to watch. I can't believe is is moving on to Prek next year! Time just flew by! So for the last day of school festivities, they had the children perform some cute songs, and then afterwards we had a potluck dinner for everyone. I love how small our school is and we are able to do these family events. My sweet baby Belle turned 2 on the 23rd of May. I still can't believe it's been 2 years!! I just remember bringing her home as if it was the other day. She is still our Baby Belle though. 2 years sounds so grown up, but she is still learning to talk and still does cute 'baby' things. I am also working on weaning her from, the uh, breastfeeding before naps and bed. Yes, I still do and maybe because she is my baby and having a 3rd child is not going to happen (my kids need soo much attention these days I can't imagine having another colic baby to take care of on top of my 2, and about 99 other reasons we are not- we love how we can get out more, travel easier, not as much baby proofing, etc.)
So I digress, for Belle's bday, we had her open her presents and then had her breakfast cupcake and sang "Happy Birthday!" After that we went to the Y. Then we had lunch at the Lot with our friends Isla and Jack and their mommy Heather. After naps, we took her to Kaze for a fun Hibachi style dinner! My angel girl is growing so fast! My sweet girls are both having birthdays this month! I just want to stop the clock because it's going by way too fast! Luna turned 4 on May 13th. She opened her presents first thing in the morning and then had her breakfast cupcake. Of course anything Frozen was pretty much what she got! We ended the day going to her favorite Mexican restaurant, Mariano's! They sang to her, put a sombrero on and she ate her sopapilla and ice cream. She loved having her Aunt Erika, Buelo and Coco there too! Next up was the big day they'd been waiting for forever! Their joint Frozen birthday party. I couldn't wait for them to have this party as it's so fun to watch their excited expressions leading up to the day. We chose to have it at Biggers Gym where my sister works part time on the weekends. We had a bounce house thanks to Grandpa and Sherry, an awesome cake from my mom's friend's daughter Kelsey and an amazing face painter who did way more than I thought with her Frozen face paintings! The kids had a lot of fun running around the gym in their princess and hero outfits. For favors we gave Frozen Activity books and stickers and some homemade Elsa crowns and Sven antlers. We had a great time and are thankful for everyone who made it out! Next was Belle's birthday on May 23rd. I CAN NOT believe my baby turned 2! Seriously, where has the time gone? It was really hard for me to believe that Luna was the same age when Belle was born. I can't even imagine. Just crazy how time flies, and Belle is now a toddler, even though we still call her our Baby Belle.
She woke up on her bday and opened her presents. She loves Minnie Mouse and most of her gifts centered around Minnie and Mickie. Then had her birthday cupcake on her special plate she made last year on her 1st bday. We also FINALLY turned her car seat around to face front and she loved it. Then we went to the Y. She actually loves going to the Y believe it or not and then we went to lunch at the Lot with her friends Isla and Jack Baker. After naps, my family came over and we all went to dinner at Kaze's Hibachi Grill. It's a lot like Benihana's but I think it's better and the food was really good! She got her own birthday ice cream bowl too :) I can't believe their birthdays are already over. I am trying hard to cherish every day and moment with these angels! The time is going by just way too fast. |
