The first function we went to was our PTA's Halloween Carnival. There were games, mazes, cupcake walks and bounce houses!
Phew, I finally uploaded my pictures so I could put a post up about our Halloween this year. We had several functions where they both got dressed up, and it was so cute to see them together. Luna decided she wanted to be a pink princess, Princess Aurora, Sleeping Beauty and wanted her sister Belle to also be a baby Sleeping Beauty :) Neither of them were interested in wearing the Tiara, but they looked so adorable anyway! The first function we went to was our PTA's Halloween Carnival. There were games, mazes, cupcake walks and bounce houses! On Sunday evening, Luna's school Church had a Trunk or Treat. We went last year and had so much fun! Luna and Belle enjoyed going to each trunk and getting candy in their buckets. Then her class had a costume parade and Luna and her friend Reese, Snow White, held hands as they walked around! Then our playgroup had a Halloween playdate at our neighborhood park, Flag Pole Hill. I have hosted one the past few years, but now that we all have 2 kids or more, it makes for a huge group, so we decided to move it to the park :) The kids loved running around and we had a nice big potluck of yummy Halloween goodies. The next event was Luna's school Halloween party and costume parade! I am Luna's room mom this year so I was in charge of the party, which meant going the easy route and having them decorate cookies! They had so much fun and were really into it. And Belle joined in the fun too, she loves going to Luna's school and runs down the hall to find her each time we pick her up! Then it was the big day! Halloween. The day Luna kept asking about every morning, and it finally was here. My mom and Raul and Erika came over to trick or treat with us and go to a neighborhood party. They also helped hand out candy while we were trick or treating. Luna and Belle had so much fun and even Belle said, "trick or treat" when she went up to a house! Then when we came back home, Luna had as much fun handing the candy out to kids as we sat out on the front porch! Our next door neighbor Jillian and Luna Belle and Isla (Jack's baby sister) Jack and Luna became friends when Luna was 2 months old. We met Jack's mom and dad at a neighborhood July 4th event, then we joined our local Early Childhood PTA, and then a few months later, we met up for Halloween in October 2010 and took pics of the 'baby blobs'. We see them each year for Halloween and they have grown up so fast! I want her to remain 3 forever, sigh! Aren't they cute? After the party, we were off to trick or treat! We go across the way to a neighborhood where they block off the streets. We had a lot of fun, but when we got back home, we realized how great our street is and will just stay in our hood next year! Check out the scene from the movie Halloween at this house. Pretty freaky! Check out my little Trick or Treaters! If you listen closely, you can hear Belle say "trick or treat". I love this holiday! Till next year :)

It's that time of year again! One of my favorite Arboretum events is the Pumpkins! My sister and I took Luna and Belle for a great photo op last week and we also went with my playgroup friends for Tots on Tuesday. I'm sure we'll go back a few more times before the end of the month too to take advantage of the great weather (and our family membership :)
We started the weekend with a playdate at Bake and Play on Friday with Caroline and her daughter Emily! The girls have not seen each other since they were like 6 months old. Our moms are good friends and we are excited she is pregnant with her second, another girl! And trying to catch any of them for the camera, not going to happen, they love Bake and Play too much to stop playing. Saturday was the Big Day. Although I was not as excited at all about the game. In fact, the party we go to every year, I was not in a hurry to get to and we walked in right at 11am, to a party with about half as many people as usual. I think most people decided to do other things that day like actually go to their kid's soccer game. But the kids had fun playing a the adults enjoyed the Bloody Mary bar :) While Todd watched Belle during the LSU game, I took Luna to a birthday party that afternoon at Pump it Up. It was a super hero theme and the kids had a lot of fun. Then at one point, I turned around and saw Spider Man holding Luna and was in shock! She wasn't afraid at all. One year ago, she would have freaked, but she's gotten so brave. When I was her age, I remember being super afraid of the Hulk that was at Sales Street Fair! I am really hoping she isn't as fearful as I was as a kid :) Sorry for the blurry iPhone photo but I was trying to snap it before she demanded to be put down.
We met some of our playgroup friends at Owen's Farm on Thursday for some fun Fall activities! We have such great memories of going 2 years ago, and it was so fun to see Luna enjoying it more now that she is older. Belle loved the Hay ride and feeding the goats and donkeys! And the kids loved running around the pumpkin patches. We are so sad they are closing their doors next month :( (Oh and see those School Buses, we were leaving when I took this picture, much better to get there right when they open to beat the schools!) Here we are in October 2011
Luna started Gymnastics last week. She had been on the wait list at Ridgewood all summer and finally got in. I am so glad her class is on Wednesday at 4pm, so we have Tues/Thursdays free and are not rushing to school or an activity. We love her teacher Miss Carrie and she is doing so well! We asked her if she wanted to do Ballet or Gymnastics and she picked gymnastics! We'll see what she picks next year :) Watch out Nadia!
Buelo Richard, aka Todd's dad, came in town to visit us! We took him to the Lake Highlands Oktoberfest on Saturday and had a lot of fun! The next day we went to Blue Fish and sat out on the patio since it was amazing weather! Luna actually ate some sushi, and the Tuna Tower. I was in shock as she is the pickiest eater but I hope it changes so she can enjoy our faves like Pho, Sushi and Thai foods! That's my girl!
Never fails, this past year I feel like I have less and less time to do stuff, blog included! Going from 1 to 2 kids is no joke :) Anyway, so the blog has been a little neglected and I am just going to post a few pics of things we've been up to lately... We went to visit my Grandmother a couple of weeks ago. We had lunch out on her patio and she loved seeing the girls! Our triplet friends came over for a fun visit too. Luke, Henry and August and their mommy Ashley...think we can get them all to stop and smile for a picture? :) I took the girls to Bookmarks at Northpark. I had not been to Toddlers or the Baby Bounce class in forever! It has now moved to the center of the mall, and it was so much fun! I am so glad Dallas has these free events and that we live a couple of miles from them. Then, on Friday night I went on a last minute concert outing to see my old time fave Depeche Mode! Since Luna and Belle have been born, it's been really hard for me to miss going to concerts. I was a huge music fan pre-kids, going to shows a lot, doing the ACL thing, and it has kind of gotten away from me. So when my friend Bao asked if I wanted to go that night, I jumped at the chance. I felt like I was back in high school, it was a lot of fun!! I need to start going to more concerts again so my life revolves around other music than Kindermusik, Raffi and radio songs! The weather has FINALLY cooled off some, and we were able to play outside and not have mosquitos all over us! The girls loved playing in our sandbox! We went over to a friend's house a few weeks ago to watch the Alabama/Ole Miss game. Belle looked super cute next to her daddy in crimson :) Luna's school has a Share Bear where each child takes home this huge stuffed bear. They show the bear all of their daily activities and we took ours with us everywhere. Then they bring it back and the teacher reads the journal that the parents wrote in about their adventures. It's cute and teaches kids how to share, or at least a start in the sharing world :) We decorated for Halloween on October 1st! One of my favorite holidays! I love Fall and all of the pumpkins, the costumes and decorations, not to mention the pumpkin goodies at local grocery stores and Starbucks! Stay tuned for more October pumpkin posts...this momma is tired and needs to get in bed before 12am :)
