Luna and her friend Stella
School Parade (both of the 2's classes together)
Luna LOVED trick or treating and it was so cute seeing her go up and ask for candy! I just love this age right now, she is so into the holidays.
Luna had a jam packed Halloween this year. We had the PTA party at my house the week before that I posted and then at her school the church had a Trunk or Treat we took her too the Sunday before and then on Tuesday at school they had a party and a little Halloween Parade. She was trick or treated out and hadn't even experienced the real thing yet! I decided to dress her up in her old costume from last year for the trunk or treat just for fun, as a little owl and hope it didn't confuse her even more :) Luna and her friend Stella School Parade (both of the 2's classes together) So for the real deal, Todd, Aunt Erika and I headed to Luna's friend Ella Grace's house across the way and one street over from her house they block off the street for trick or treaters. We had a little picnic in her front yard first with all of her friends and then we all walked over to trick or treat. Belle was Daisy Duck and I had to make her own costume because they don't make one apparently. With Luna being Minnie I just had to do the sister thing and make her Daisy. We were going to have Belle stay home with my mom and Raul who came over to hand out candy for us, but Belle was too fussy so I loaded her up in the Maya Wrap and off we went. Luna LOVED trick or treating and it was so cute seeing her go up and ask for candy! I just love this age right now, she is so into the holidays. Luna and her friends We finally sent Luna on her own at the last house and she was so brave going up there all by herself!

Last week was Luna's ballet and tap Parent Observation class. None of us had been able to watch our littles in class yet and I was dying to see what she was up to in class. So I was thrilled that we were allowed in to watch them do their ballet and tap moves. It was soo cute to see and we got a sneak peek of what their Christmas show routine will be. I mostly took video with our video camera and haven't downloaded that yet, so these are quick iPhone pics and video clip, what would we do without our phones? :) Last year I had a little Halloween party for Luna and a few of her close friends. Well, this year I opened it up to the entire 2's and now the Babes playgroups in our PTA and was nervous about all of the people that might RSVP in my little house. As much as I love our home, it's not the best at entertaining a lot of people. The family that lived here before had put a wall up to divide the dining room and formal living space so that the dining room was now an enclosed office/playroom. So that means we have less open space to have people over. But with our backyard having a playground, I thought it would be okay. Let's just say it was a HUGE party! But the more the merrier, we had a great time!! Uhm, just look at this photo of the babies and their moms! We have a lot of moms in this group, and it's not even the 2's group AND it's not even the whole group of the babies! (yes, Luna had to get in the shot, she did not want to leave my side :) Oh and I finished Belle's costume, not the best, but it did the trick!: A hat, glued on bow, glued on sticker eyes and a foam piece for Daisy's bill and a purple onesie and socks. The 2's group, we had to take 2 pics as we could not fit everyone in! Pinata Time! It was so cute seeing them hit it, and I had to finally rip it open :) Toya brought her husband Terry as the whole family was dressed from Rydell High! Halloween Goodies I made bat cookies (oreo cakesters, chocolate grahams and chocolate glued on candy eyes-super easy!) Witches Brew Aunt Bao was a huge help! We had so much fun! Can't wait for Halloween night ;)
My little angel turned 5 months old on the 23rd! Hard to believe as it seems like it has flown by! 5 months always sounds so old, but to me she is still a little newborn.
Here are some of the fun things she is doing: -Rolling over from front to back, and can roll to her side from her back but not quite making it over -Loves holding things now and putting things in her mouth on her own -Loves sitting in her Bumbo, exersaucer and her johnny jump up -She spits little raspberries and giggles a lot now, so cute! -Loves watching her big sister and Luna loves making her laugh As for sleep, well, it was good when she had colic, but now she is waking up a lot more at night! She is still swaddled and sleeps in her nap nanny in her crib and I sleep in the guest bed in her room. It makes it easier for me to get up and go to her vs walking out of my own room and into hers. Any suggestions on breaking the swaddle?? I think we are going to have to Ferberize her as the longest stretch of sleep I get is still 2 hours. She has only been able to fall asleep on her own maybe 2 times without me rocking or nursing her (the Babywise is so not working for us). She takes about 3-4 naps a day still and wakes around 6:30am and goes to bed around 7pm. Eating has been O.K. She was spitting up a lot and still fussy and not gaining weight, so we put her on Zantac and she seems to be sleeping better and definitely less spit up! She is still nursing and takes a bottle once a week. I can't stand pumping, so I only do it when I have to. And we have not started any cereals. Most recommend waiting until 6 months because it helps with their digestive system, as if you start at 4 months it can cause more allergies and digestive issues later on. Belle is such a cutie and is sooo much happ I am normally a summer person, as I love tank tops and flip flops, but this year I am enjoying the Fall weather so far because my girls can finally go outside! And the main reason is because I just love Halloween, especially now that I have a child that is finally going to enjoy it this year! Luna already loves the Doc McStuffins pumpkin episode and watches it daily, and the Halloween books we read each night before bed. We started the Halloween Season off with the LH Area Early Childhood PTA and were so happy Buelo Richard, Aunt Heather and cousin Carolyn were in town visiting! Todd was taking his weekend long course for his mortgage lending license and were glad they came along to the carnival. Luna is going as Minnie Mouse this year and I wanted Belle to be Daisy Duck but they don't make a Daisy costume, so I decided to make one, it's still in the works, so I dressed her up in her Halloween onesie. Decorating Cookies Then my dad came into town on Monday and we did the Arboretum again, this time with baby Belle. It was difficult getting her propped up and we sat her down in some hay, she was a trooper and only toppled over once ;) Holding Hands! Luna loves holding her sister's hand Grandpa
We made it to the Arboretum with our playgroup on Monday for their annual pumpkin patch! My mom watched Belle so I could take Luna and have some quality time with her. Luna has been SUPER clingy lately and wanting only me so I thought this would be fun for us. It's really sweet but at times tiring as she only wants me to put her to bed, give her a bath, read her stories, poor her milk, etc. So she had a lot of fun running around the pumpkins and found her friend (our neighbor) Jack and held hands together, so cute!
Todd had Monday off, yay for his new job and the awesome bank holidays he gets! So we ventured out to the Fair right when they opened and Aunt Erika came along too. We headed straight for the animal exhibit since we knew it would get the most crowded. Then we went to the Midway and Luna rode her VERY FIRST EVER ride! So excited for her as I grew up going to Penny Whistle Park here in Dallas and loved all of those fun rides. Luna chose to ride the motorcycle ride and then wanted to get on the elephant one. It was one that flew in the air, so Todd chose to ride with her. She didn't want to leave the Midway at all. Then we grabbed some Fletcher's (and I got their new turkey dog) and a funnel cake. Next it was game time and I played the one where you toss the little balls to pop the balloons. I won a stuffed animal for her so when she took it from the carnie, she threw it thinking it was her turn to play the game, so cute! We then visited Big Tex and on the way out went through the car show. Luna loved sitting in the mini vans. No we are not getting one, but we love the sliding doors, captains chairs and the ease of getting kids in and out of it! As we left at 1pm, we saw the HUGE line to get in and were so glad we went early. We were sooo looking forward to this year's Lake Highlands Oktoberfest. Remember last years? But this year it was freezing out, high of 55 and windy. Cold for us Texans when the day before was in the 80's. But we braved it anyway and Luna loved the petting zoo the most. Belle mostly stayed wrapped up in her little car seat and napped through most of it.
After Luna picked out a few pumpkins at the patch, the next day we went to the LH PTA pumpking painting event at White Rock Lake. We showed up and Belle and Luna got their very own pumpkins to paint. Luna LOVED the pink paint, go figure. And she had a great time painting Belle's pumpkin for her. She also enjoyed seeing all of her friends there. This was one event that I think almost every member was there!
Todd and I took Luna to the neighborhood pumpkin patch at St James. She had sooo much fun! Running around the patch looking around for pumpkins and kept picking them up and placing them in a pile to take home. And now every time we drive by the patch, she gets so excited!
