The weekend started with a Chick-Fil-A playdate for breakfast Friday morning. Her friends Alex, Jack and Ella Grace met us there for bfast. So far her favorite meal there are their fruit cups and a few bites of my multi-grain bagel. But her favorite thing is the playground for sure! She loved climbing on their jungle gym and it's a super cool Little Tikes brand tree house thing. She was not happy when it came time to leave to go home and take her morning nap! It's kind of hard to see but she is wearing her Pink Chick-Fil-A onesie that her Aunt Heather got her- Aunt Heather and Uncle Rey own a Chick-Fil-A in OKC and are about to get a brand new one that is going to be the largest in the state! We are excited for them! Oh and excuse the iPhone pics- not quite a 35 mm but it does the job :) The next day we went to her friend Clay's 1st birthday party! So exciting that little Clay turned 1 and I know that Luna is not far behind him. So amazing how this year has flown by and I can't believe my little girl is going to be turning a whole year old!! Clay had a super fun party outside on a gorgeous day. When it came time to blow out the candles, he totally smashed his smash cake and got icing all over himself. Very cute! We ended the weekend with a Sunday dinner at Mi Cocina's with Todd's cousin Jeff and his wife Angie and their kids Jefferson, Fletcher and Evelyn. Luna has been cranky this weekend from teething but she cheered right up when she saw her cousins! She loves kids and they had fun entertaining her!

So I am behind on my blog, oops! Last Wednesday we headed to the Arboretum to take advantage of the nice Spring weather. Dallas Blooms is going on, my favorite festival they have! Such gorgeous flowers and Luna loved seeing all the pretty colors of the tulips! We love having our membership there and will definitely be going back each week to take advantage of it.
On Monday, Luna and I went to her neighborhood friend, Alejandro's 1st birthday playdate! There were a lot of babies crawling and walking all over the place and tons of toys, but what was Luna's favorite thing? The water bottle attached to the balloons! Yesterday, we headed to our weekly Lake Highlands PTA playgroup play date at her friend Zoe's house, who is also in Luna's Kindermusik class. Luna was in shock at the coolest ball pit she had ever seen! She could not stay away from it. Now that she is crawling all over the place, she is into everything at the play dates!
Luna had a nice surprise visit from her Grandpa David on Saturday! He drove down for the day to see little Luna and she was very happy to see him. We hung out, grabbed some lunch and did some outdoor shopping since it was such a beautiful day! We then headed to dinner at Cafe R +D where they have highchairs for babies that clip onto the tables! That way, we don't have to bring in our jumbo highchair protector contraption. She loved eating my chicken and broccoli- but I was secretly cursing myself I did not order my fave- their Mango Tuna sushi!! Next time. We then headed to get some frozen yogurt at Yogurtland. Yum! These yogurt shops are everywhere now and I love the self serve and toppings! We ran into our friend Mila and her mommy Carmen there too. We finally got home and hung out before Luna's bed time. We can't wait for her grandpa to come back and visit again soon! Sunday we went to lunch for her grandma Cocoa's birthday at CPK. Luna was in LOVE with their new computer ordering/bill pay machine they have on each table. To her it was like a super huge iPhone to play with! Cocoa loved her gift, a Hydrangea plant, and we got it at the nursery around the corner from us. It's called Brumley Gardens and is such a cool little nursery- they even have a fancy indoor gift shop with fancy candles, jewelry and home decor! Sunday evening we met up at Mariano's with our play group, but this time the dads got to go too!! Luckily the place is large enough to handle all of us and they sat us in the far back room that was completely empty. (did you know they were the first to invent the frozen margarita machine? It's in the Smithsonian) I ordered a Skinny Margarita with agave nectar, yum! The babes had a blast and it was so cute to see them talking to each other across the tables! We missed little Alex though who is at home nursing a fever :( We definitely all need to get together again soon, maybe one day we can all get babysitters and have a night out without the kids!
Luna had a blast with her friends at Addison's house for St Patty's day! All the babes and their parents had a fun evening cookout. Luna loved crawling around outside and eating leaves as usual, and exploring with all the other baby Leprechauns!
It's Spring Break here in Dallas which means Luna and I have stayed clear of all the crazy crowded places this week. But luckily her Aunt Erika was off work as a teacher, so we were able to meet up with her. On Tuesday, we went to the Galleria to finally meet up with my mom and her good friend Carol and her 2 daughters, Lizzy and Caroline, who also had babies in 2010! Caroline's sweet Emily is just a few days older than Luna born on May 9th and Lizzy's little Hadley was born on November 18th. We had a great time meeting each other's babies and by the end, my poor Luna was in meltdown mode, desperately needing her next nap! We had a lot of fun and the girls will definitely need to get together again soon :) The grandmothers with Luna and Emily Hadley and Lizzy Luna and Emily (flash was off, oops) Yesterday, Todd was off work and we planned an afternoon outing to the Arboretum. Uhm, yeah, big mistake. Spring Breakers made it look like it was a Saturday, so we just kept driving past the line of cars and headed to the park!
So today, Luna turns 10 Months old! I know I say this every month but I just can't believe how time has flown!! She will soon be over the one year mark and I just don't know how I will believe it when that time comes. Poor Luna has been teething this week and has been running a low grade fever. She already has 4 teeth in but won't let me see what's coming next :) Her progress this month: -Luna is officially crawling now, backwards AND forwards and no army crawling either! Her favorite thing is to go to our entertainment center and play with the CD's. It's a big no no, but we are working on baby proofing the cabinet as she knows how to slide the doors open pretty easily -She pulls up but is not pulling up to standing yet -She now knows how to wave, but still not if we ask her to- it's more of a when I want to on my own terms kind of thing -She LOVES to clap now! If I start singing patty cake she automatically starts clapping- and she claps when she is happy and excited -Still loves to babble and say her consonants -She is more of a picky eater now, not sure if it's teething or not but just loves avocado, applesauce, bananas and butternut squash and her Yo Baby yogurts- everything else she turns her nose up at :( -She is sleeping better now and goes to bed around 7pm, still wakes up once to breastfeed in the middle of the night though, but is much better than her frequent wakings. I think it's her blankie (woopie) that helps calm her as she places it on her face and sleeps with it- don't worry, perfectly safe but believe me, I lost sleep over worrying it was suffocating her for weeks. The doctor swears it's safe at this age and is the only thing that gets her to sleep -She also has learned how to dance and rocks back and forth when music is on -She still enjoys her Kindermusik class each week and is learning a lot of songs, music and gross motor skills -And lastly, she is our little flirt- She loves to get the attention of strangers and smiles at them all the time! Here is a video of Luna clapping this morning Today Todd, Luna and I ventured up to Blue Mesa for her Aunt Carmen and Aunt Bao's bday brunch! She was able to see baby Mila again and her friend Tinsley. Mila has grown so much and is now almost 3 weeks old! (Oh, and they were shooting an MTV reality show outside on the patio as we were eating, too funny!) Squirming Babies!
Todd and I ventured out to Oklahoma City this week while he had a few days off. It was nice to see his family and Luna was so happy to see her Aunt Heather, Uncle Rey, and cousins Carolyn and Rey, Jr. Luna and Aunt Heather, one sock on, and one sock off as usual Rey and Carolyn playing ball with Luna and Todd Luna with her cousin Carolyn We then made a visit to my grandparent's house. Can you believe they only live about 1 mile away? I guess their neighborhood is THE place to be in Oklahoma City. We are so happy that Todd's family is getting their second Chick-Fil-A store and it will be less than 10 minutes from their home and the largest in Oklahoma! We can't wait for it to open soon! My grandparents were thrilled to see little Luna! She is their only great-grandchild! Luna was so happy that she saw her Momo, who recently just celebrated her 91st birthday. Luna and her Momo!
Luna had a great time Friday at Baby Bounce with her Cocoa. Not the best picture as Luna is looking drugged as she sucks on her bells, but she is totally enthralled watching the teacher. Saturday night Todd and I headed to our friends Brandi and Garrett's Housewarming/Mardi Gras party! Aunt E babysat so we could have a night out! Todd had to work Sunday-boo! So Luna and I headed to eat lunch at Kalachandjis- the yummy Hare Krishna restaurant in our old Lakewood/East Dallas neighborhood. Of course I can never get anyone to go eat there with me but Luna was game! She had broccoli, carrots, brown rice and kale. I LOVE their food buffet and is only 8.99 for lunch. They have vegetarian food and vegan meals and everything is made fresh- they follow the yoga diet of nothing processed, canned or frozen. Luna loved chewing on the table the most :)
Luna, Todd and I went over to my sister Erika's house yesterday to say goodbye to her cat Scooter. Scooter was 13 years old and has had a battle with cancer. Aunt E knew it was time for him to go and decided to put her down as she was in too much pain. Poor Scooter is in a better place now and is no longer in pain. We miss you Scooter!!!
