We had just gotten back from my sister's school cheer practice and Luna LOVED watching the 'big girls' practice. She decided to do some of her own cheering at home.

Luna and Belle and I met some old friends from my hip hop dancing days at the Galleria playground. Hedy has 2 twin boys now who just turned 4 and Kim has an almost 5 year old Leah and a 11 month old Kaley. They had so much fun together running around the play area (which they just re-did) and Luna did not want to go home!
So since we are Family members of the Arboretum, they offered us a free sneak peak of their Children's area opening in late September. All I have to say is it is AWESOME! So many little areas to explore, things to play in, water play, science, planets, gardening, etc. Great for kids, but definitely cool weather only since it's mostly all indoors. And it's such a huge area, it can take you around 5 hours to explore it all.
We took Belle to get her first real shoe fitting at Nordstroms today! We took Luna when she had first started walking and now that Belle has been on the go, we decided it was her turn. (She's been wearing sandals, just in case you were wondering, but I had ordered them online). They have a First Walkers program where they get a balloon, get a stuffed shoe animal and take their picture. Unfortunately their camera was broken but I was able to get a few good shots! She had so much fun!
I am so glad we decided to move to Lake Highlands when I was pregnant with Luna. I really wanted a family neighborhood where my children could run around in the front yard with other kids. When we moved just a half mile up Northwest Highway, I thought I was moving to the suburbs :) I had not lived North of Mockingbird since I had moved back to Dallas and it was a change, but I am so glad we did! We love our neighbors and being so close to other families.
We were invited to our neighbor's little girl Camille's first birthday party, and a combined 1st bday party with her cousin Kate on Saturday. Camille is a few months younger than Belle and their older daughter Jillian is 3 months older than Luna! They have a great time playing together. It was so fun to watch Luna run around outside with our neighbors in their princess and pirates gear. My moms group headed out to Cane Rosso Wednesday night for a moms night out. We had a lot of fun and even more so since it was BYOB Ladies Night!
Luna and Belle has their last art class together on Tuesday. We have really enjoyed our art class together and it was so fun! They were able to experiment with all kids of art from play dough, finger paints, clay, crayons, chalk, shaving cream, glue, stamp art and water colors. The only negative was the Perot, it's crazy crowded, no parking, lines, elevator lines and did I mention crowds? A lot more stressful than when we took the class at the old location. And little Belle was adorable testing every medium in her mouth!
Since my sis moved to the Park Cities, she's been hitting up the pools this summer. So she invited us to the Highland Park pool on Sunday. The girls had a lot of fun, and it was nice a food truck showed up for family night dinner. (Oh and that's Todd on the high dive :)
After Luna and Belle had been inside our house for 4 days straight due to Pink Eye and Roseola, we were so ready to get out of the house! Belle had 4 days of fever and reached 105.5 degrees on Monday night, 104 on Wednesday morning and it broke to 98.7 that night, thank goodness! We stayed in on Thursday but then by Friday figured it was safe to get out. We headed to the new indoor play area 2 miles from us in Lakewood called Bake and Play. Basically it's a bakery and lunch place where you can eat and then your kids can play in the play area. It has a cool play structure, dress-up areas for boys and girls, a play kitchen, blocks, toys and a little area for babies to crawl around too. I highly recommend it (but bring socks for you and for your kids!) And one day I am going to get my kids to actually smile for the camera and stay still!
Well, technically Luna's first movie was Toy Story 3 when she was 2 months old and we took her to see it while she napped..awh the good ole days! But for her real first movie, we went to Studio Movie Grill to see Shrek (one of her faves since there are no scary monsters or scary scenes in it) and she LOVED it! She ate chicken nuggets and sat through the whole thing!
