Luna has uttered her first words, "uh oh!" Now, she has been saying "dada" and "momma" but not really with as much meaning. She says them when she sees us but also when none of us are around but her "uh oh" she uses with meaning! Whenever she drops something she says it and it's so cute! My parents said it was my first word too! I tried to get a few videos of her saying it but as soon as I get out my iPhone to tape it, she wants my phone and it's hard to sneak in a video of her. Luna is also walking better with her walker! She drives it every chance she can get. Of course again, every time I try to tape her, she stops so I can't get a very good shot of her. This video isn't the best but it shows how much she is progressing. The poor thing is also teething horribly, grabing her little ears :( She's even been chewing on our curtains now! Luna also loves to dance and her daddy snuck this little video of her dancing to her play table while mommy slept in a little bit one morning. (Excuse her nakedness and only wearing a diaper that her daddy kind of put on lopsided ;)

Luna had a great fun weekend with her Daddy who was off work for 3 days! Yesterday morning the Easter bunny visited Luna and brought her the Velveteen Rabbit, Peeps bubbles, a nice pink bunny and a few eggs filled with stickers. No chocolate yet for Luna! So as you will see, Luna had about 3 wardrobe changes today. Her onesie she woke up in, her day dress and then her pink Eastery dress from here Aunt Heather. Dresses are kind of hard for her to wear now with all the crawling she does but yesterday she was held so much, she got the Princess treatment! Her Coco, Buelo and Aunt E came over after Church to visit Luna. We took her to an area park for a nice Easter picnic. After we had our picnic of yummy chicken salad, fruit and quiche, we went to our old neighborhood party! We miss our Hollywood Heights area and were so glad to go back and visit. The Easter Parade is on our old street, Newell Avenue and Luna loved seeing the dogs, floats and funny Easter outfits. She was giggling and squealing in delight when we walked down to the Adopt a Dog section. All of our old neighbors were so happy to meet Luna as we were 8 months pregnant when we moved out!
Luna enjoyed her Easter party yesterday at her friend Ella Grace's house. It is so much fun having a baby during Easter. It took me 3 trips to different stores and vendors to get her Easter basket but it finally came together. Of course she has no idea what it is all about yet. But she had so much fun during the hunt while watching her mom gather up the eggs. She sat down and discovered all of her eggs in her basket and eating the baby crackers inside of them! Aren't the babes adorable!
Okay, I have to make this one fast as Luna is napping and I have to get into the shower before her Easter party today! So we went to her friend Tinsley's bday party on Sunday, tons of fun, but little Lu was ready for her nap and we could not stay long :( Sweet Tins turned 1 years old, so hard to believe! Luna is loving her walker and uses it whenever she can! Also, check out the cute pic of her watching the rain yesterday. Oh, and she is LOVING her Pat the Bunny book and now she can pat the bunny herself and feels the scratchy beard! So cute :) Last night Luna had veggie dumplings for dinner for the first time and loved them! I am always trying to figure out new ways for her to get her veggies so I hope she continues to eat them.
Yesterday Luna and I met some of our playgroup friends at Butterfly Gardens. She was memorized by all of the butterflies and kept ooing and awing over them!
My sweet baby is 11 months old today! So unbelievable and where on earth did the time go? It really makes me remember being pregnant at this time last year, not wanting to go anywhere far or alone in case I went into labor early! And feeling her kick and move around, so surreal!
As for Luna and how she is developing at 11 months.... -We think, think, that she signed for the first time today!! She signed 'more' while eating her favorite, whole wheat tortillas, but will have to see if she does it again tomorrow and grab a video. -She drank from a straw sippy cup for the first time today, too, yay! Apparently regular sippy cups are not good for speech development, so we have been trying to just give her a regular cup, but so glad she is now drinking from a straw and is spill proof for restaurant eating. -She is standing, pulling up on everything and moving up and down our living room ottoman/coffee table but not standing by herself yet. Gets a little scared. But believe me, I am NOT wanting her to walk yet. Just not ready for that yet!! She does not want to really play with her toys anymore, she just wants to crawl, and explore! -She LOVES her avocados still, and is not the best eater. She no longer wants me to feed her anything, nothing with the spoon, so no more purees except maybe Yo Baby Yogurt. She also loves her tortillas, I have a feeling she will be a carb lover like her momma. -Loves listening to her children's music CD's and Kindermusik classes. Anytime I start singing a song, she stops what she is doing and smiles and comes over to me -She is enjoying her story books and I've been signing all of the words in her word books, animals and animal sounds -She loves her swing outdoors and gets so upset when we have to come inside - I think she weighs about 18 pounds and is still in 9-12 months but some 12 months are still way too big for her..Why can't these brands get a universal size going on? Next month is the big 12 months!! It will be interesting to see where she has grown between now and then as babies grow so much in such a short amount of time from social, emotional, verbal, motor, etc. We took Luna to a field of Texas Bluebonnets this weekend. I am still learning to use my camera in the Manual Mode and getting my aperture and shutter speeds working together, not easy! I seem to have forgotten everything I learned in high school. It also didn't help that Luna was not wanting to smile at all! She was tired as it was close to her bed time. But 6:45pm has the best lighting. I tried to break out my Adobe Lightroom but it is still a whole new language
Spring is definitely here! Luna was spoiled this week in that she got to go to the Arboretum twice AND to Turtle Creek to see the Azaleas blooming. The first trip to the Arboretum was to meet her 3 boyfriends, the Hale Triplets and their momma Ashley. Of course it was impossible to get any of them to look at the camera and smile for us, go figure with 4 babies. She loved playing with them though and especially enjoyed checking out their cool stroller! On Wednesday, we took Luna to Turtle Creek to check out the Azaleas and the Swans. She really just wanted to eat the flowers. I don't blame her, they look so pretty it's hard to resist. We then headed to Auntie E's birthday dinner at Cyclone Anayas. Luna enjoyed being a part of the festivities but soon wanted out of her highchair!! So we decided to skip dessert there and went to Yumilicious for a frozen yogurt. Luna likes it better there anyway as she likes to help mommy pick out her flavors. The next day was our second outing to the Arboretum with little 6 week old Mila and her mommy Carmen. It was Mila's first time there and we think she enjoyed it! At least she loved being in the stroller and walking around. Friday we met Jack and his mom for a playdate at Chick fil A. She was a hit with the staff there as they loved her 'I heart Chick Fil A T-shirt! They all got a turn at holding her and snapping pictures. Luna loves their Little Tikes playground and always hates it when we leave.
We then met Bao and Tinsley at Kalachadji's for lunch! We sat outside on their nice courtyard patio. The girls had a great time sitting next to each other and eating vegetarian style. My sweet little Lulu thankfully quickly recovered from her fever illness. She was fever free by Sunday!! So needless to say our weekend was pretty blah. It was spent indoors at home and we did not leave the house once so that Luna could get her rest and recover quickly. We did have a nice little visit though from her Aunt Heather, Uncle Rey and cousins Carolyn and Rey Jr. Unfortunately I only took one picture before she headed for her afternoon nap and then they had to get back on the road to OKC. Rey and Luna
Little Luna has officially caught her first bug! We've been lucky she hasn't been sick yet until 10 months old, but they have to get sick at some point- gotta build that immune system. She woke up in the middle of the night Thursday night with a fever of 101.5 and when we got to the doctor's office it was 102.5. Apparently it is just a fever virus- maybe something called Roseolo that lasts a few days and it affects babies and young children under 6. My poor little Lu! We hope it goes away soon! At least the rest of the week was fun as she went to her friend Ella Grace's house for a music playgroup on Wednesday afternoon. We also went to Northpark mall to walk around and Luna loves the Disney store with their little exploring play areas! She also has a new favorite toy- her walker/cruiser! So far she likes sitting on it better than walking it- it converts from a walker to a little scoot toy. And what did she learn to do this week? Stand up in her crib! She has been standing and pulling up on her own while playing in her play area in the living room for awhile now, but had not stood up in her crib yet because she sleeps in a sleep sack. But she somehow managed to stand up anyway! Luckily the crib was already lowered :)
