She had her 2 week check up last week and is on target for everything. She had her little ear pointed at the top when she was born and they had placed a little mold on her left ear then and they took it off today. So glad we had it done now as she will thank us later when she hits 12 years old and wants her ears pierced!
They also weighed her at 8 pounds 4 ounces and is doing well on breastfeeding. She passed her hearing and vision tests and then had to have her heel pricked again for PKU- poor little thing cried but glad it was soon over. She is probably wishing she was back in the womb with all the poking and proding going on.
As far as her sleeping and our sleepless nights, she is still waking up around every 2-3 hours to eat which they say is normal for breastfed babies. I am getting used to the feedings and lack of sleep and trying to sleep during afternoon nap times with her to catch up! She gets fussy here and there during the day and sometimes at night and she just wants to be held. The Happiest Baby on the Block has been a miracle for us too with the swaddling, and the other techniques he uses, so glad to have that book and video!
Luna also had her first photo shoot on May 26th and it got off to a rocky start as she was cranky and awake and not wanting to have her picture taken- who knew her new schedule would be she is awake during the morning hours! But she soon calmed down and we were able to get some naked shots of her asleep, such a cutie! I will post them as soon as I get the proofs.
We had family visitors last weekend, first with Todd's sister and her kids and husband. The cousins got to meet Luna for the first time and her new uncle Rey. Her grandpa Abuelo Richard came through town again as well and got to see Luna and we all had dinner together before they had to head down to Austin/San Antonio.
My dad and step mom, Sherry, came in town last weekend as well and Sherry got to meet her for the first time. We had a lot of nice family time together as Luna is still too little to take out to the malls and restaurants as her mom is being strict and following the pediatrician's advice and waiting to do the germ filled things at around 6 weeks. We ate all of our meals and take out that weekend at our home and it was nice to spend the time together at home.
Our friend Maria was also in town visiting he family and she stopped by for a visit. She loves being her new 'Aunt Maria' and we hope she comes back to visit soon!
I just have to say that it has been such a joy these past few weeks!! She is just the cutest and so fun to watch her sleep and when she is alert. I miss her when she sleeps so when she takes her long naps, I am so excited when she wakes up so I can hold her again!
