This weekend started off with a fun playdate at Baby Bounce at Northpark on Friday with Luna and her friend Tinsley showed up with her daddy Thomas, who was playing Mr. Mom for the day. Luna loves all the sing along songs and baby games we play in the class. It was such a beautiful day, that we spent the afternoon doing tummy time outside on our lawn- and yes, that is my old comforter she is laying on from when I was 2, a child in the 70's for sure! Then, Daddy Todd got home from work and we headed out to our neighbor's Halloween party. We were afraid to put Luna in her costume already for fear she would have it covered in spit-up by the end of the night, so she wore her little pink dress from her Aunt Mimi and was a 'princess' for the night. They had an awesome set-up with a movie showing outside for the kids, a huge potluck table of food, kegs and candy for the kids.
We had helped move Aunt E out to my mom's house yesterday, and then found out after the carnival, that she was taken to the hospital today because she was so weak, and they discovered she has blood clots in her lungs after dealing with her ulcers all week, poor thing, can't catch a break! So we decided to stay home with Luna and not take her to the hospital today, because she hasn't had her flu shot yet and the dreaded RSV season is here. We went to eat at MiCo and then stopped by our friend Bao's house (who just moved to the area!) When we got home, we went over to congratulate Luna's friend and neighbor, baby Jillian who is 9 months old and was Baptized today! Luna had a full day and was not in bed until 9pm!
We then stopped by our friends Mike and Traci's house to see Grayson for Halloween, and then headed home to get ready for the trick or treaters. We strolled on down to a few neighbor's homes and first started at Jack's house (dressed as the cutest Jack-O-Lantern) and met his grandparents and great-grandparents, and Luna loved seeing their doggie Chloe dressed as a pumpkin. We stopped by a few other neighbors so they could see Luna all dressed up and then the tricker treaters started coming in droves! So many cute costumes, lots of Toy Stories, clowns, Ninja's, Star Wars and princesses. She loved the candy bowl and kept trying to grab it, and when Todd took her away from it, she started crying! Our first tantrum, I can just see the future now with her at Target begging for a candy bar and crying when I tell her 'no!'
I just love Halloween and this is the first one I have not dressed up and gone out to a party to celebrate, so funny how things change now that I have a child, she for sure takes center stage!!!
