26 Weeks

We went to our monthly appointment on 2/3 and it was one I was not looking forward to. I had to fast for 2 hours, then drink this orange glucose drink 1 hour prior to my blood glucose screening. I already have a fear of fainting from blood being drawn after a few episodes in college, and since I am always hungry  being pregnant,  I was afraid I would feel extra faint before the appointment. So I went on a search of a massive breakfast burrito, finally found one at Taco Joint and ate a 1 pound burrito right at the 2 hour mark.  I have never been such a glutton in my life and I was definitely full for the remainder of the day and barely ate my dinner!  It did the trick as the nurse drew my blood, 2 viles in 2 seconds, and I felt great.  It also helped that I was laying in one of their birthing room beds with nice silk sheets and swanky pillows, I felt like I was at home!  Overall I was glad the experience was over, will wait to hear if I possibly have gestational diabetes.

The rest of our appointment went well. I am measuring at 25 weeks, gaining a steady weight of 18 pounds and was told that  I am to be gaining an average of 1 pound a week (something I should have been doing starting at week 14). No other complains except some acid reflux at time and now having back pain, which is a great excuse to get some prenatal massages!   I am still working out here and there, going to hip hop (low impact) and trying to walk and go to the gym with my prenatal trainer.

Our baby is kicking and moving all over the place now, and Todd was able to see "Bertha" actually move across my stomach the other night.  He can see the kicks and punches through my skin!  Amazing!
