Luna was invited to her friend Zoe's birthday party at the Flight Museum at Love Field last Saturday. The Toddler area is awesome! They have a few playscapes, bounce houses, a play air traffic control tower for the kids to climb on, and a real airplane for the kids to tour and see the inside of an airplane. She had a blast and loved the last surprise, birthday cake! Happy Birthday Zoe!

Luna experienced her first time behind the wheel of the Whole Foods shopping cart last week! She loved it and we didn't hear a peep out of her the entire shopping trip.
We've started Kindermusik again and this time we moved up to the 1.5-3 years old class. The theme this semester is planes, trains, cars and boats. So after the first class, her teacher Miss Jenni (Caroline's mom) passed out our materials and it came in a cute train box. Luna loved it and took off down the hall with her new goodies.
A few weeks ago we met some of Luna's friends at the Science Place at Fair Park. This is where we took her art class last summer, but the play area is amazing for this age! Indoor water tables, slide, blocks, miniature farm play animals, play houses, etc. Luna had a blast and loved the water table and the hot air balloon the best.
Check out the picture of her in amazement looking up at the hot air balloon. So I am a little late in getting her 20 months picture updated. She turned 20 months on 1/13/2012!! And these pics did not turn out as well. I am saving up for a flash to attach to my camera- the ones that come with the 35mm cameras cause a huge shadow behind your indoor subject- see the shadow on the left of her head? Yep, that is from the head-on flash that pops up.
Anyway, she is at such a cute age and her words are now what is the cutest thing about her. We teach her new words each day and it's so cute to watch her pronounce them. The cutest is when she says 'thank you' and also signs it at the same time. Cute is the only way to describe this age! Eating: She definitely falls into the toddler picky eater category. One week, she loves the turkey hot dogs I buy her, the next, she won't touch them. Cheese? Loved it last week, this week- not so much. The one thing that she constantly does not like are vegetables so I have to hide the pureed broccoli in her food. I am thinking of getting her Juice Plus gummies to help her get her veggies! She is liking milk more which is good and she is on her way to being completely weaned from breastfeeding! She has gone almost 1.5 weeks without it, which I normally would have continued until 24 months, but being pregnant, it was making it hard on my body. Sleep: She STILL thankfully sleeps a great 12-13 hours a night from 7-8pmish and her naps are from 12-3. I'm not complaining and I hope she takes 3 hour naps for the next couple of years. I am a huge sleep advocate in that I think it helps with brain development and also makes them happy little toddlers :) Play: Luna loves her babies, putting diapers on them, putting them to sleep in the baby crib, and giving them a bottle. She also loves her Kitchen! Crayons and coloring are also a favorite and I can't wait for us to take another art class this summer- hopefully a mommy and me class and I will have a family member babysit our new baby so Luna can have some quality alone time without the new baby :) Social: She loves her playdates and loves going to school now on Wednesdays at her MDO. She is usually very social, but sometimes when we go to the park to meet her friends, she asks to go home after being there for just a short while. I think she is becoming a little home body. But we meet her friends several times a week at the park, an indoor playground, her Kindermusik class or like this week, we have our PTA Valentines party on Friday so she definitely gets her share of socializing. |
